Meet the Updated 2027 Chevrolet Trax and Trailblazer
October 13 2026,
Chevrolet has two small SUVs that many Canadians already know well: the Trax and the Trailblazer. For 2027, both are getting updated, and it is a good moment to get reacquainted.
Think of this as a proper introduction. We will introduce each model, look at what it brings for 2027, and finish with the features they share. Both updated SUVs are anticipated to arrive at Chevrolet dealers in spring 2027.
A Quick Hello From Chevrolet
Chevrolet calls the Trax and Trailblazer its two most affordable vehicles. Andrew Barker, brand director for Chevrolet Canada, said the pair has brought more choice to the country’s small SUV market, with more than 80,000 vehicles delivered since their debut three years ago.
For 2027, Chevrolet is adding more standard safety, improved technology and a refreshed design to both.
Say Hello to the 2027 Trax
Personality: stylish, city-friendly and newly refined
Trims: LT, RS, ACTIV
The Trax steps into 2027 with a more premium look and feel. Chevrolet gave it a new grille, new wheel designs, all-LED taillamps and a redesigned liftgate.
Each trim shows a different side of the Trax. The LT has wheels with a higher-contrast finish for an urban look. The RS rides on 19-inch wheels, the largest across all trims, for a sporty attitude. The ACTIV wears a unique front-end design that suits its adventure-inspired style.
Step inside and you will find distinctive hexagonal side vents on the instrument panel. For the first time, a power liftgate will be available on the Trax.
Say Hello to the 2027 Trailblazer
Personality: practical, driver-focused and ready for more
Trims: LT, RS, Z71
The Trailblazer’s update centres on the cabin. Chevrolet says the interior is designed for the driver, starting with a new column-mounted shifter. That change opened space for a redesigned centre console with more flexible storage, including cupholders that retract for extra open storage.
Back-seat passengers get a welcome addition: their own HVAC vents. And the AutoSense power liftgate will be available on the Trailblazer.
Introducing the New Trailblazer Z71
Personality: rugged, outdoorsy and new to the family
The Z71 is the newest member of the Trailblazer lineup. Chevrolet calls it the brand’s entry-level adventure-ready AWD model. It comes with:
- Standard all-wheel drive
- An off-road-tuned suspension
- An underbody skid plate
- Sport-terrain tires
Inside, debossed front-row headrests and a new Jet Black and Storm Sky Gray interior with Orange accents give the Z71 its own identity.
The Z71 badge has a long Chevrolet story. It debuted on the brand’s full-size pickups in 1988 and is offered today on the Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado and Silverado.
The Features They Share
Standard Safety
Chevrolet upgraded the electrical and software architecture in both SUVs. That allows more than 20 standard safety and driver assistance features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Front and Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Seat and Blind Zone Steering Assist.
Newly standard features include Reverse Automatic Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Front Park Assist, Rear Seat Belt Indicator and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking.
Screens and Connected Services
Both get a new, larger standard 11-inch-diagonal driver information centre and an 11.3-inch-diagonal infotainment screen.
Google built-in with Gemini compatibility is part of the system, with an OnStar Basics plan of up to eight years included. OnStar One will be newly available and included for 12 months, adding services such as an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot and video streaming.
A New Colour
Storm Sky Gray makes its debut on both models. It is an all-new interior colour for Chevrolet, with a natural, earthy tone.
